HAMPTON – The man who police say drove the wrong way in I-64 and killed two young women has now been charged with involuntary manslaughter.
19-year old Sierra Smith and 17-year old Kimberley Brin died in the accident on December 4.
Police say alcohol was a factor.
According to Sgt. Michelle Anaya with the Virginia State Police, the wrong way driver, Jesse Evans, is now charged with two counts of involuntary manslaughter.
Evans was an Army staff sergeant based at Fort Eustis.
He was arrested in September for driving while intoxicated and is currently in the Newport News City Jail serving time for that offense.
