NEWPORT NEWS -- A Newport New 7-Eleven remains closed after a woman drove through the front of the store Thursday morning.

Newport News Police spokesman Lou Thurston said a 60-year-old Newport News woman drove her 2008 Lexus sedan through the store at Warwick Boulevard and Merry Oaks Drive around 8:30 a.m.

The driver was taken to the hospital with what appeared to be non-life threatening injuries, Thurston said.

No other injuries were reported.

The crash remains under investigation. At this time there are no charges pending.

The store will be closed until repairs can be made.
