TABB -- A woman who claimed a man threw a chemical at her legs has been charged with filing a false report.

The York-Poquoson Sheriff Office began investigating the incident after the woman reported last month that she was approached by a man while at the Wal-Mart on George Washington Highway in Tabb.  She told investigators he asked her to go out to dinner with him and she turned him down.

The woman claimed when she left the store, she went to a nearby McDonald's and the man approached her again, only this time she said he threw a chemical at her legs, burning them.

Lt. Dennis Ivey told 13 News Now he didn't know why she made up the tale and caused herself bodily harm.
