NEWPORT NEWS - Friends, family and people in the Southeast community held a vigil Wednesday night to remember a teenager shot to death on Sunday.
13-year-old Lamonee Johnson-Chisholm's body was found near 31st Street and Orcutt Avenue, just blocks from his home.
"So many people dying for no reason, people killing people just cause they killed somebody, but it's only making it worse and it's time for somebody to step up. It's time for something to change," said his friend Jodeci Blount.
Some people in the gathering wore special remembrance t-shirts with teen's photos on them.
Johnson-Chisholm's mother said her son called for help after being shot, but he couldn't be saved.
Police continue to search for the person who killed Johnson-Chisholm and wounded his 15-year-old friend. If you know anything that can help, call Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
