RICHMOND (AP) -- A Va. Beach teen is among three Virginia high school students being recognized for their accomplishments in academics and the arts.
The program created in 1964 has honored more than 6,000 of the nation's top-performing students.
It was expanded in 1979 to recognize students who demonstrate exceptional talent in the visual, literary and performing arts.
Jenkins is a student at Laurel Springs School. Its website says Laurel Springs is accredited, private online school for students in grades K-12.
