Two arrested after standoff in Elizabeth City

Cody Carden, age 18, was arrested on outstanding Felony warrants for Felony Breaking and Entering a Vehicle, Felony Larceny of Items, and Felony Possession of Stolen Property where he received a secured bond for $50,000.00. Cody Carden was also served with an additional 14 Order for Arrests for Violating Conditions of Release where he received a “No Bond” for violating his conditions of release.

ELIZABETH CITY, NC- A standoff with a teenager wanted on several felony warrants in the 1000 block of Florida Avenue in Elizabeth City ended peacefully after two hours Wednesday.

State and Pasquotank Sheriff's officers attempted to serve a warrant on 18-year-old Cody Carden. He was wanted on several felony counts including breaking and entering, possession of stolen property, and violating terms of his release from jail.

Carden was found at a friend's home on Florida Avenue. All of the residents were removed from the home, but Carden refused to come out. A two-hour standoff followed until police were able to talk him out.

During the incident, Pasquotank Sheriff's deputies found marijuana growing in the backyard of the home. 23-year-old Christoper Honeycutt was arrested and charged with felony manufacturing of marijuana.
