VIRGINIA BEACH--Victory for runners from Kenya and Japan Sunday morning at the Rock 'n' Roll Half Marathon.

Yusuf Songoka from Kenya won the men's race, and Japan's Madoka Ogi from Japan came in first in the women's race.

13News was there as 20,000 runners from around the world laced up their shoes for the 10th annual event Sunday morning on 19th Street.

Runners say the weather was beautiful, and couldn't ask for better conditions.

Many were running for a cause.  Christen  Harmon was running in honor of her husband, who died while serving in Iraq three years ago.

She says every stride is a reminder of the precious gift of life.
