Man shot in upper torso expected to survive

PORTSMOUTH -- A teenager has been taken to the hospital after being shot in the upper torso in Portsmouth Monday afternoon.

According to Portsmouth Police spokeswoman Misty Holley, the 19-year-old was shot near the intersection of Deep Creek Blvd. and Graham Street around 4 p.m.

The victim was transported to Sentara Norfolk General for injuries that do not appear to be life threatening.

Detectives currently do not have a suspect or motive for this crime.
