NEWPORT NEWS -- A standoff is underway in a Newport News neighborhood.

A man refused to give up when police tried to serve a fugitive warrant for assault and battery at a home on Berkshire Drive, said Officer Harold Eley.

Eley says the man and another person are in the home and it's unknown whether the man has any weapons.
