VIRGINIA BEACH--City Council voted Tuesday to temporarily resume valet parking at Town Center in Va. Beach.
Town Center property manager Divaris has contracted Guardian Parking Management Services for the service since 2008.
Last Wednesday, service stopped in front of Ruth’s Chris Steak House, McCormick & Schmick’s and Sonoma Wine Bar & Bistro.
Councilman Glenn Davis said people complained the valet company was using city parking spots and not paying for them. But he's concerned that stopping the service put people out of work and inconvenienced handicap families.
City Council agreed to let Guardian Parking Management Services operate until December while they seek proposals for offering the service long term.
