SUFFOLK -- Police are searching for suspects in a robbery and attempted robbery of two nail salons in Suffolk.   However, police don't believe the incidents are related.

Spokeswoman Diana Klink said an Asian man entered Happy Nails in the 2800 block of Godwin Boulevard on Saturday around 2:45 p.m. and demanded cash.

Witnesses say the suspect flashed a gun but fled after being told there was no money.

Nobody in the salon was injured, Klink said.

A week earlier, a black man wearing a white mask and carrying a handgun entered Rainbow Nail Salon on N. Main Street around 4:30 p.m. and stole cash from the register.  The suspect fled on foot.

Several employees and customers were in the salon at the time of the incident.  Klink said nobody was injured.

Police continue to investigate.

Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
