HAMPTON -- Police have arrested a suspect in connection with multiple burglaries in Hampton over the last month.
Police charged a homeless man, 20-year-old Matthew Alexander Rodriguez, with four counts of burglary and grand larceny.
Police believe Rodriguez stole flat screen televisions, laptop computers, electronics, clothing, gaming systems, jewelry, sports memorabilia, prescription medication and money.
Police say they were on patrol in the 1200 block of North King Street when they saw a suspicious individual matching a description that had been provided in a previous burglary. The man fled before being taken into custody after a short foot pursuit, police said.
Rodriguez is currently being held at the Hampton Sheriff's Office.
