SUFFOLK -- Two people were injured in an early-morning crash in Suffolk Monday.

Suffolk spokeswoman Diana Klink said a Ford Explorer ran off the road in the 4900 block of Godwin Road around 6:30 a.m. and struck a tree.

The driver was entrapped and sustained life-threatening injuries, Klink said.  He was airlifted to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital.

The passenger was taken to Riverside Hospital for injuries that didn't appear to be life-threatening.

Moore Farm Lane is closed in both directions.  Klink says the road should remain closed until 7:45 a.m.
