SUFFOLK -- A Suffolk man faces charges after he allegedly kicked and hit two police officers in the face Tuesday.

According to police spokeswoman Diana Klink, officers responded to a fight at the intersection of Military Road and Maryland Avenue around 9 p.m. As the involved subjects were being handcuffed, 18-year-old Cameron Brown approached officers and would not obey commands to back away. 

Brown kicked an officer in the face and throat, and hit another officer in the face, Klink said. 

Brown was charged with disorderly conduct, obstruction of justice and two counts of assault on law enforcement officer.

Brown is being held at the Western Tidewater Regional Jail.
