WILLIAMSBURG-- Storms marched across Williamsburg, York County, and Gloucester Thursday night causing high water on roads in some areas.
At one point, around 7:15 p.m., the National Weather Service issued a tornado warning for York County in the Seaford area but no tornado touched down.
According to Major Steve Rubino of the James City County police, heavy rains around Williamsburg made for slow travel in some areas.
Rubino told WVEC.com that as of 9:30 p.m. waters had receded except for high water on Centerville Road which was closed between Monticello Avenue and Route 5 outside Williamsburg.
There were no reports of any trees down or power loss because of the storms.
