JAMES CITY CO. -- An Army soldier has been charged after allegedly attacking her husband and his girlfriend in James City County.
Police said 24-year-old Margaret “Maggie” Sarah Kloske drove to James City County from Ft. Bragg Tuesday morning with the intent to kill herself in front of her husband and his girlfriend.
Kloske was armed with a .45 caliber revolver when she entered Stratford Hall Apartments through a bedroom window, started yelling and banging on her husband's bedroom door and then fired one shot through the door, according to police.
They say Kloske's husband opened the door, struggled with his wife and knocked the gun from her hand.
According to police, Kloske then punched her husband’s 19-year-old girlfriend repeatedly in the head. The girlfriend was able to run out of the apartment.
Police charged Kloske with breaking and entering with the intent to commit a felony, two counts of attempted malicious wounding, assault and battery, reckless handling of a firearm, and discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling.
Kloske is being held at the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail without bond.
Kloske’s husband, 23-year-old Alfredo Alfredo Alvarado Jr., was arrested on two outstanding warrants for credit card theft and petit larceny.
Alvarado was released from the Virginia Peninsula Regional Jail on a $1,500 unsecured bond.
