Smoke alarm alerts Hampton family to fire

HAMPTON -- A family of four is safe thanks to their smoke alarm.
A woman and three children escaped fire in their home on Huffman Drive early Monday.
Lt. Anthony Chittum says faulty electrical wiring in an addition that house a half bath and laundry sparked the fire around 4:45 a.m.
Damage to the home is estimated at 25,000 and the family can't live it in for now.
