Long Jewelers burglary

CHESAPEAKE -- A smash-and-grab at a Chesapeake jewelry store is under investigation.  

Police were called to Long Jewelers in the Woodford Square Shopping Center at 701 N. Battlefield Blvd. around 12:10 a.m. Tuesday.

Officer Ravi Sheth said officers arrived to find one of the front windows had been smashed. Once inside, the burglar(s) smashed several jewelry cases.

A piece of plywood was put in place to cover the broken window.
