NASSAWADOX- Nobody was transported to the hospital Thursday afternoon after a school bus crash in Nassawadox.

The bus carrying 40 students and 10 adults was returning from a field trip when the accident happened around 3:20 p.m on U.S. 13 northbound near Nassawadox, according to State Police spokesperson Corrine Geller.

The road was shut down for about 20 minutes until the accident vehicles could be moved.

Northampton Fire and Rescue in Nassawadox and Community Fire and Rescue in Exmore responded.

"There were no hospital transports," said Katie Sharpley of Community.

Cindy Walker was working at the Smiling Dolphin, a Nassawadox framing business, at the time of the crash.

"They moved the bus from (U.S. 13) to the lot" across from Little Italy, she said.

There was little to no damage to the bus, media on the scene reported.
