SUFFOLK - An early morning accident on U.S. 58 (Holland Road) closed the busy highway in both directions Monday morning.

The accident involved a tractor-trailer and a passenger vehicle.

The crash happend at Holland Road at Buckhorn Drive.

That's about 12 miles from the Isle of Wight line in the Holland area of Suffolk.

The driver of the tractor-trailer was extracted from the truck and taken to Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. He is reported to be in stable condition.

One lane of traffic is open in both directions.

Suffolk officials say the tractor-trailer should be removed by 5:30 p.m.
