PORTSMOUTH--Police arrested a substitute teacher at Douglass Park Elementary School on Friday and charged her in connection to an incident which occurred in October.

Police arrested Tena Lin Neese Artise, 22,  of the 800 block of Brighton Street around 3:20 p.m. as she was leaving the school.

Artise is charged with burglary, abduction/kidnapping, and use of a firearm in the commission of a felony as a result of the incident that happened in the 1300 block of County Street on October 21st.

Police say a 14 year-old female, who was home alone around 5:40 p.m.,  reported that she heard a knock on the rear door of her home.  When she opened the door, Artise walked in and allegedly pointed a handgun at her.  A second female suspect stood in the open door and did not enter the home.  Artise asked the teen where other family members were.  She and the other suspect left after finding no one else  in the house.

Police say the motive for the crime appears to be money owed to Artise.  A handgun was recovered by Detectives at the Artise’s residence. No one was injured in the incident.
