VIRGINIA BEACH -- Police say a Virginia Beach man was drunk when he got behind the wheel with three children in his SUV.

Investigators say one of the youngsters was on Alvin Taylor's lap when he put the SUV in reverse and didn't stop until it hit a townhouse. The other children were buckled up in the back seat.

It happened over the weekend on Battleford Drive.

"It sounded like a train wreck when it hit.  I was like what in the world," said Juanita Milton, who was home when the vehicle crashed through her front door.

No one was hurt, according to police, and the investigation continues.

Taylor is in the Va. Beach jail on charges of dui and child endangerment.
