Wreck on light rail track
NORFOLK -- A pickup truck wrecked on The Tide's tracks Sunday night, coming into contact with a guide wire for a pole that supports overhead wires.
The accident happened at Curlew Drive and Kidd Boulevard, and no trains were involved.
The pickup reportedly flipped onto its side on the tracks, and no one was with the vehicle when police arrived.
According to Tom Holden of HRT, repairs to the guide wire were completed at 3 a.m. Monday, and a speed restriction was placed on the area until a further inspection by an engineer.
Service began as usual at 6 a.m.
