VIRGINIA BEACH-- All emergency vehicles with the Virginia Beach Volunteer Rescue Squad  will now have pet oxygen masks thanks to a donation from a local business.

Invisible Fence Brand of Hampton Roads donated ten kits, which include a small, medium and large mask, all specially designed to fit a dog or cat’s muzzle and effectively deliver oxygen.

An estimated 40,000 to 150,000 pets die each year in fires, according to the U.S. Fire Administration.

You can check out the new kits at a community event on August 3 from 10:30 a.m. until 12 p.m. at Station 14, located at 740 Virginia Beach Blvd.  It will include pet CPR information, animal adoption opportunities and tours of the station.
