5/13 UPDATE: Daniel Lewis King, Jr. was taken into custody at police headquarters after turning himself in Tuesday night, Newport News police spokesperson Lou Thurston said. He will be placed in the custody of the Newport News City Jail.

5/12 UPDATE: Detectives have identified the suspect in this case as 21-year-old Daniel Lewis King Jr.

Newport News police say King remains at-large. Anyone with information on King's whereabout are asked to call Newport News Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.

NEWPORT NEWS -- Police said someone shot a 22-year-old in his chest during a fight Sunday afternoon.

It happened shortly after 2:00 p.m. outside the victim's apartment on Wesley Pond Court in Denbigh.

Police department spokesman Lou Thurston told 13News Now the victim and the accused shooter know each other. During the course of their argument, there were several gunshots.

Paramedics took the 22-year-old victim to the hospital. Officers expect him to survive.
