NORFOLK -- Nearly two dozen medical professionals with Operation Smile are back from helping the victims of the Haiti earthquake.

The team went to work the moment they got into the country just days after the devastating earthquake.

They partnered with Partners in Health, worked in two Op Smile camps and there's a team working aboard the Navy hospital ship USNS Comfort.

"When we went on the ground, we went in with not only the right doctors and nurses but also with the right equipment, the right pharmacuticals, and oxygen and other requirements that many of the larger groups just did not have or did not have availability for," said Howard J. Unger, OpSmile's CEO.

A new team is now on the ground in Haiti and Operation Smile says it'll be there for the long haul.
