PORTSMOUTH -- A week after flood waters swallowed up streets in Olde Towne, homeowners are still in the recovery phase.

Martha-Ann Creecy had more than a foot of flood water inside her historic home. She's mopped much of it up, but the warped wood floors and the stench of sewage indicate she’s got a long way to go to get back to normal.

Many people who live along Dinwiddie Street say the city has been slow to fix storm drains and add a much-needed pump station to help the low-lying area.

One city official tells 13News those issues might not get resolved any time soon because of money.

There’s an emergency meeting of the Olde Towne Civic League at 7:00 p.m. Thursday.

Organizers say they’ll discuss the sewage system problem and other issues from last week’s Nor’easter.

The meeting will be held at Trinity Episcopal Church, 500 Church Street.
