CURRITUCK CO., NC -- Two men face drug charges in Currituck County after police say they found psychedelic mushrooms during a search last week.
Police say Thursday's search took place at a home in the 600 block of Poplar Branch Rd.
Officers arrested 34-year-old Christopher David Facenda. He has been charged with maintaining a place for sale/use of a controlled substance, manufacture sch I controlled substance, possession of sch I controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Police say Facenda had about 13 trays of suspected mushrooms growing in the home. Their value has not determined and the items were taken to a state lab for testing.
Also arrested was 35-year-old Howard David Cohen, who also lived in the home. He's charged with maintaining place for sale/ use of controlled substance, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
On Friday, Facenda was released on $3,000 bond; Cohen was released on $1,000 bond.
