NORFOLK--Norfolk Police are investigating three shootings that happened over a four-hour period. It wasn't immediately clear if any of them were connected.

The first call came in around 10:30 p.m. Thursday for a man who'd been shot in the leg. A man who lives in the 500 block of W. 27th Street said he heard two shots shot. He went to see what was going on and saw a man running down Newport Avenue and then collapse near a tree. He called 9-1-1 and paramedics took the victim to the hospital.

About 25 minutes later, officers were called to the 300 block of Fort Worth Avenue. They found a man who'd been shot. Spokeswoman Karen Parker-Chesson said the man was taken to the hospital with injuries considered to be life threatening.

Around 2:00 a.m. Friday, authorities say two people were shot near Oakleaf Forest apartments on Greenleaf Drive but should be okay.

Police didn't release information on the circumstances of the three shootings or whether they had any suspects.
