NORFOLK-Gunfire broke the silence in a Norfolk neighborhood early Thursday and police say two teens were wounded.
People on Wilson Road said they heard shots being fired around 2:00 a.m. and then they heard a teenage boy screaming for help.
A woman told 13News Now that that youngster knocked on her front door and asked her to call police. She said he'd been shot in the leg.
Another resident, Shelly Hunter, woke up when she heard the shots and told her five kids to get on the ground.
"I'm thinking it's firecrackers or something," Hunter said. "Then I see boys running and one of them was screaming, 'oh he got shot, he got shot.'"
Police spokeswoman Karen Parker-Chesson said the boys were walking down the street.
Investigators say a white SUV was seen in the area prior to the shooting, but they don't know if it's connected to the shooting.
This is the second shooting in that area this month.
The boys were expected to recover from their wounds.
