NORFOLK -- WVEC-TV is proud to again be a sponsor of the Grand Illumination Parade in Norfolk, the official kickoff to the city's Christmas season.

The 28th Annual parade on November 17 is themed “Storybook Live.” It begins at 7:00 p.m. and the highlight is the turning on of the lights on buildings along more than 12 miles of the Downtown Norfolk and Olde Towne Portsmouth skylines.

Again this year, you can purchase a seat to watch the parade. Before the parade, have fun at The Plot and Towne Bank Fountain Park. The Peppermint Express, a trackless train, musical acts, clowns, storybook characters, and other performers will be there beginning at 4:00 p.m.

Parking from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. is $1.00 at city-owned, attendant operated parking facilities and $5.000 after 5:00 p.m. It's $2 all day at the MacArthur Center garages.

For information on tickets, events and the parade route, go to the Holidays in the City Website.
