UPDATE 6/26: Officials say unattended cooking caused the fire on Ballentine Boulevard Wednesday.
They also say a dog that had been rescued has died.
NORFOLK -- Fire crews battled a fast-moving fire at a Norfolk home Wednesday night.
Emergency crews received the call in the 2300 block of Ballentine Boulevard around 9:30 p.m.
Smoke was seen coming from the house as crews arrived on scene. All residents were out of the building before help arrived, fire officials said.
A dog was rescued from the home, but nobody was hurt.
Two residents were displaced. The cause of the fire is now under investigation.
