NEWPORT NEWS -- A Newport News school bus driver was briefly pulled from her route because of a crash that police say was her fault.
The bus carrying a dozen students was headed to Crittenden Middle School around 7:30 a.m. Monday.
According to police, the driver turned left from Jefferson Avenue onto Thimble Shoals and collided with a car that was turning into an apartment complex.
The students weren't hurt and were picked up by another bus to go to school, said spokeswoman Michelle Price.
Police said no charges have been filed.
The driver has been with the school system for five years.
The driver will likely be back on her route this afternoon since no citations were issued, Price added.
