JAMES CITY COUNTY -- Police say 50-year-old Craig Nolan Leggett died Saturday after his motorcycle ran into a tow truck in the 8500 block of Richmond Road in Toano.

Officers believe Nolan was going fast on his 2000 Harley Davidson motorcycle when he made a left turn at the Anderson’s Corner intersection to continue westbound on Richmond Road.

Policed said the motorcycle hit the driver’s side rear quarter panel of a tow truck. The truck was crossing Richmond Road into the median from the BP Gas Station, located at 8554 Richmond Road.

Leggett, who wound up pinned underneath the tow truck, died there. The tow truck driver was not hurt.
