HAMPTON - Whenever a winter storm is predicted, people make sure they’re stocked up with food and supplies in case power goes out, they need to dig out or just don’t want to get out on the roads.

With two storms in a week, shovels, sand and salt to clear driveways and walkways were in short supply. Many stores just couldn't get enough to meet demand.

At the Ace Hardware store in Big Bethel Road in Hampton Tuesday, the shelves are full. Folks there said they planned ahead after getting caught short the last storm.

Other stores, including the Lowe's at the Power Plant, reported being pretty much out of supplies there and throughout the area.
