NORFOLK -- Chesapeake Police stopped a car early Monday morning and found that the driver had been shot.

He was taken to the hospital and told authorities he'd been shot in Norfolk -- in the 1900 block of Greenleaf Drive. in Norfolk, where detectives were checking out reports of gunfire around 12:30 a.m.

Norfolk Police had been checking out reports of gunfire in that area around 12:30 a.m., but they couldn't find any victims, said Officer Daniel Hudson.

The victim had only a vague description of the gunman and there was no information about the circumstances of the shooting.
