Man wanted for trying to break into Newport News business

NEWPORT NEWS - A man tried but failed to burglarize a Newport News business late last month.

 

It happened August 29 around 2:309 a.m. at Mambo Grill at Newmarket West, located at 6139 Jefferson Ave.

Surveillance cameras at the front of the building show the camera being pushed upward out of position. The company says the weather strips had been removed from the front glass door and then motion detectors indicated someone trying to get into the store from the back.

The suspect is a light-skinned man who was wearing Adidas sneakers, t-shirt and shorts. He;s 5'8" to 6'0" tall, in his late teens to late 20s, medium build, close cut hair.
