SUFFOLK -- A man was killed Saturday morning when his truck flipped and he was ejected.

This accident happened on Carolina Rd./U.S. Rte 13 Business, just before the Southwest Suffolk Bypass shortly before 6 a.m.

According to a spokesperson, a Toyota Tundra 4-door pick-up truck was traveling northbound when it left the roadway and struck a culvert, which caused it to flip several times. The only occupant was the male driver, who was thrown from the truck in the accident and died on the scene.

The driver was identified as 26 year-old Kenneth James Wiggins, from Hobbsville, NC.

The accident caused the southbound lanes to be completely closed, but they were expected to re-open by 1 p.m.

Police said they don't know why the truck went off the road.
