HAMPTON -- A Suffolk man is charged with killing a man early Sunday.

Police say Deshawn Travis Goodwin-Godfrey, 20, got into a fight with Julius Omar Bartley, 28, and pulled out a handgun and shot him.

It happened around 12:15 a.m. during a party in the backyard of a home on Mitchell Road in the Cedar Park neighborhood.

According to authorities, the victim and suspect were among several people at the home.

Goodwin-Godfrey of Suffolk is charged with murder and use of a firearm while in commission of a felony.
