LIGHTFOOT --Two gunmen climbed through the drive-thru window of Wendy's late Wednesday night to rob the restaurant and police say they have one of the men in custody.

It happened June 29 at 11:10 p.m. at the store at 6666 Richmond Rd. in Lightfoot.

Once inside, the men ordered the four employees to go to the back of the building and get on the floor. They forced the manager to open the safe and then removed cash.

After getting the money, the ran out of the back door and got into an SUV.

A James City County Police officer saw the vehicle turn into an apartment complex and went to investigate.  That's when the men got out of the vehicle and ran into the woods.

More than six hours later, Gary Piggott, 23, of Williamsburg, was found on the railroad tracks behind the Colonial Carwash on Richmond Rd. in Lightfoot., according to authorities.

Piggott was charged with robbery and four counts of abduction.

Police say he also robbed the 7-Eleven on Merrimac Trail on June 8 and is charge with robbery and three counts of abduction in that incident
