*Update: Jonathan Ray Allen was sentenced Monday to 32 years in prison, followed by five years of supervised release, for conspiracy, robbery and firearm charges.
Allen was found guilty by a federal jury of all charges on March 23, 2012.
According to prosecutors,19 victims were able to identify Allen in court as the person who robbed them at gun point.
VIRGINIA BEACH -- A Portsmouth man is charged with committing 9 robberies in five cities and more charges could be placed.
Jonathan Ray Allen, 27, was arrested June 29 for a series of robberies, most involving checking cashing businesses, in Hampton, Va. Beach, Portsmouth, Norfolk and Suffolk.
"Investigators from eight different jurisdictions were gathering and sharing information in an effort to get these suspects identified and arrested," said Va. Beach Police spokesman MPO Adam Bernstein.
Allen could face additional charges as the investigations continue in all seven Hampton Roads cities and York County, he added.
