JAMES CITY COUNTY -- A Richmond man is charged with robbing a James City County 7-Eleven on the same day he allegedly murdered his mother.
The suspect, 44-year-old Ronnie Samuel Cook of Richmond, is currently in the Richmond City Jail accused of stabbing his 78-year-old mother to death on Jan. 4.
According to police, Cook approached the clerk at the 7-Eleven located at 7211 Richmond Rd. and asked to purchase a lottery ticket. He allegedly threatened the clerk and ordered her to give him lottery tickets, money from the cash register and several packs of cigarettes. He then instructed her to walk to the bathroom. Cook left on foot with lottery tickets, cigarettes and cash.
No weapon was displayed and the clerk was not injured.
Cook was arrested on Jan. 5 for the murder of his mother and is also suspected of robbing a Henrico County Shell Station that same day.
