NORFOLK--Ann Blanchard was Whitney Houston's body guard during the early 90's. She says Houston was a genuinely kind person, who treated her with respect.
"She was a classy woman, she gave her all she loved what she did. We always had a prayer group before we put her on stage and what you see is what you got," said Blanchard from her Chesapeake home.
Blanchard now works for the Department of Homeland Security.
Tuesday, there will be a local memorial for Whitney Houston at The Lodge, 2400 Jefferson Avenue in Newport News. It will take place from Noon until 2 PM.
