VIRGINIA BEACH -- When VCU tips off Friday against Stephen F. Austin, a former Great Bridge High School student-athlete will take the court.

Briante Weber is a junior guard for the Rams and leads the nation in steals. In fact, his former coach at Great Bridge said Briante is on track to break the all-time steal record in NCAA history next year.

"Briante is a great guy," said Great Bridge High School Athletic Director Greg Jennings. "He wears a big smile everywhere and everybody likes him."

UVA takes on Coastal Carolina Friday and with the team in Raleigh will be redshirt player Devon Hall, who attended Cape Henry Collegiate.  Hall's father is currently the head basketball coach.

UVA alums are excited to watch their Alma Mater in the big dance.  Viewing parties are scheduled at places like Shorebreak Pizza on Shore Drive and Just George's on Laskin Road.
