WILLIAMSBURG--A name from the past is returning to Williamsburg.
The restaurant and live entertainment venue known as the Jewish Mother has signed a five-year lease and will open on Prince George Street in the Triangle Building.
The Williamsburg Housing Authority owns the building the restaurant will be moving into bringing it to full occupancy.
Some people may remember the restaurant when it was in the Historic Triangle on Richmond Road in the nineties.
This time the restaurant is going in an area targeted for revitalization, the heart of Williamsburg.
City leaders believe having the college-friendly business with live entertainment near Merchants Square will help draw people to another part of town and to other businesses.
Scotty Miller, the president of Jewish Mother, said, "It's just such a right location. We figured we would fit in perfect."
The new restaurant opens in March 2014. There are already locations in Virginia Beach and Norfolk.
