JAMES CITY COUNTY -- James City County officials announced Major Bradley J. Rinehimer as the county’s acting police chief effective December 14.
Rinehimer has been with the police department since 1995. He is a graduate of the FBI National Academy, Professional Executive Development School and the FBI’s Law Enforcement Executive Development School.
Over the course of his career, he has a proven track record of community involvement that includes working as a patrol officer, school resource officer, community resource officer and community services unit Lieutenant, officials said.
Rinehimer says he is ready to lead the Department. “I will do my absolute best to lead the men and women of the County Police Department and continue to provide outstanding law enforcement services until a permanent Police Chief is named,” added Rinehimer.
Rinehimer will serve in that capacity until a decision is made on hiring a permanent chief, officials said.
