Iwo Jima ARG will be home for the holidays

NORFOLK-Three Norfolk-based ships, delayed from coming home to because of Middle East unrest, are on their way home.

LTCDR Brian Badura with U.S. Fleet Forces Command confirms USS Iwo Jima Amphibious Ready Group and its Marine contingent based in North Carolina will be home for the holidays.

USS Iwo Jima, USS Gunston Hall and USS New York were ordered to the Med last month, which extended their eight month deployment.

In all, that's about 4,000 Sailors and Marines due home soon.
