NORFOLK-Hundreds of families were reunited Tuesday with the return of a Navy submarine to Norfolk.
The Los Angeles-class attack submarine USS Helena (SSN 725) pulled into her pier at Naval Station Norfolk.
The rain didn't keep families and friends from waiting for the arrival.
The Los Angeles-class attack submarine had been in the European Command, Central Command and Pacific Command Areas of Responsibility conducting maritime security operation.
The 360-foot ship has 15 officers and 129 enlisted Sailors.
Helena was homeported in Norfolk on June 15, 2011 from San Diego.
