HAMPTON -- The Hampton Police Division mobile command center is going out into the community to support the city's "Safe and Clean Operation."
The mobile unit is serving as a neighborhood field office, for police and representative from other city departments.
The operation is to reduce crime in some of the problem neighborhoods. On Tuesday, the command center was in the Old North Hampton community.
"We want to make people feel comfortable reporting crimes they see. We want them to really get involved," said Sgt. Scott Keller with the Hampton Police Division.
The set up gives residents a chance to be face to face with someone to disuss neighborhood problems or to ask questions.
Mobile Command Center schedule:
Tuesday, March 18 - Rip Rap Road, Mt. Hebron Baptist Church
Thursday, March 20 - Lincoln Street, community center
Wednesday, March 26 - Mllon Street, Farm Fresh parking lot
