NEWPORT NEWS - The Grinch got to work early this Christmas season.

Presents all wrapped and waiting to be opened December 25 were stolen from a Newport News salon.  The gifts bought by employees of Jagged Edge Salon were being kept there so their children wouldn't see them.

Someone broke in overnight, getting in and out through windows in the back of the shop.

Owner Shelly Revels says the dozens of presents were taken, along with a TV and cash.

Stylist Lisa Leaks had presents for her three children that she says she worked 60 hours a week to buy.  Now she has nothing and doesn't know how she will get replacements.

Police say the shop on Warwick Blvd. closed at 6:45 p.m. Monday and reopened at 7:15 a.m., and that's when the thefts were discovered.

If you know anything about this case, call Crime Line at 1-888-LOCK-U-UP.
